North Star Power Engineering operates a state-of-the-art production facility in Tucson, Arizona. It includes corporate offices, and areas for research and production. The 11,000 sq. ft. production floor allows for simultaneous design, assembly and testing of multiple products.
The facility is less than a minute from Interstate 10, and 10 minutes from the international airport, providing a high level of convenience for shipping by either ground or air, or for customers to come to the facility for meetings or product testing and acceptance.
High voltage test equipment is available for systems up to 500 kV. The company maintains the capability to measure high voltage with traceability to the US National Institute of Standards and Technology. High voltage vacuum projects often require testing of devices which produce ionizing radiation, and we have a 25 ft. x 25 ft. radiation-shielded room with a rolling door for performing those tests.
In-house capabilities include a 450 kV DC electron/ion accelerator, a 500 kV pulse generator (1.5 usec pulse duration) a machine shop for rapid modification of parts, detailed electronic simulation, electrostatic and magnetostatic simulation, particle orbit simulation with and without space charge, radiation transport, and Superfish modeling and Autocad design.
All computational facilities required for pulse power, accelerator and high voltage work are available at North Star Power Engineering.
When dealing with proprietary products and technologies, we are prepared to offer the level of security necessary to protect our customers' interests.
